About Chadash Christian Ministries

From our founder

Why Chadash exists

Born from the questions of a Mennonite girl in northern Wisconsin.

The question

Growing up surrounded by Anabaptist churches, our founder kept asking the questions she didn’t hear answered: Is my life meaningful? Are the hards worthwhile? Does God really care? She longed for a place where young women could wrestle with their faith and discern the Holy Spirit’s voice.

The calling

In 2014, with her husband’s blessing, she hosted a one-day girls’ retreat, and began hearing the same hunger echoed back to her. The burden grew: a longing for the denominational walls to be lowered so the church could link shields for the greater cause of our youth.

The dream

In the fall of 2018, Mike had a dream where we were walking together along a lakefront property that we had purchased for ministry. I asked him what we should name this place, and he said it should be called Chadash Cabin. When I asked him what that meant, he explained it was the Hebrew word for rest and renewal. The name kept rolling around in his mind until he woke up. It was 3 a.m., he went downstairs to our computer to search for the meaning. Unsure how to spell it, he tried several variations without success. Finally, he typed “What is the Hebrew word for rest and renewal?”—and there it was: “CHADASH”. We felt this experience was the confirmation we need to move forward, and that God was in it.

The wilderness

In 2020 the Lord opened the door to wilderness trips. In 2021 He provided a 10-acre property that now anchors the ministry. Since 2022, Chadash has hosted two annual trips, and watched God show up, personally, for every girl who came.

It is often our wilderness experiences of life that we can truly grasp the heart of God.

A word from our founder
Only a wounded Savior can satisfy a wounded soul.

Where the enemy attacks our lives most fiercely is exactly where God seeks to bring the greatest healing. Often our greatest calling arises from our deepest pain.
